This workshop will be taught in two sessions via Zoom
All sessions will be recorded for you to have for future reference and in the case you cannot attend one or both of them. The links to the recordings don't have expiration date so you can watch them whenever and as many times as you like.
1st Session - Saturday 25th May from 7 pm to 8.30 pm (GMT - UK time)
2nd Session - Saturday 1st June from 7 pm to 8.30 pm (GMT - UK time)
For those of you who wanted to learn how to make this goldwork ladybird (or ladybug) and would like to get started with this beautiful techniques, this is the perfect chance!
During these sessions you will learn all the process from the very beginning when you trace the pattern to the last stitch of the design. I will guide you on how to embroider this project using goldwork and stumpwork techniques and we will finish it as a scissors fob or hanging ornament.
As usual, por those interested in making their own versions of this project I am always happy to help you and give you ideas. What about making the spots as hearts? Or making ladybirds of different colours? To help you with this, if you buy with this workshop one of my goldwork supplies boxes or bundles I will add you the extras you will need to make other versions: anthenas, beads for the eyes, felt, etc. Any ideas simply write a message in the comments section at checkout so I can help you better.
The cost of the workshop includes the kit with all the materials needed to complete the project: fabric, threads, purls, needles and more.
Apart from what's included in the kit you will need:
- 8 inches hand free embroidery hoop
- Goldwork embroidery scissors
- A velvet board or soft surface to cut the metals
- Awl (or other piercing fabric tool)
- Heat erasable pen for fabric such as PILOT FriXion or a pencil.
During this workshop I will be teaching you all the necessary techniques to complete the project but some experience in embroidery is recommended. If you have any questions about this you can contact me and we can discuss it.
After completing the class you will be able to build and embroider your own goldwork ladybird and hopefully it will inspire you to create your own designs as I will teach you all the process, even how to make your own templates from the pattern.
The kit includes the printed pattern and all the supplies to complete the ladybird and finish it as an ornament or scissors fob.
