This workshop will be taught in two sessions via Zoom

All sessions will be recorded for you to have for future reference and in the case you cannot attend one or both of them. The links to the recordings do not have expiry date so you can watch them whenever and as many times as you want.

1st Session - Saturday 4th November from 7 pm to 8.30 pm (GMT - London, UK time)

2nd Session - Saturday 11th November from 7 pm to 8.30 pm (GMT - London, UK time)

During these sessions you will learn all the process from the very beginning to the last stitch of the design.

The cost of the workshop includes the kit with all the materials needed to complete the project: fabric with the pattern traced, threads, purls, needles and more.

Apart from what's included in the kit you will need:

- 8 inches hand free embroidery hoop

- Goldwork embroidery scissors or embroidery scissors that you will use only to cut metals. I recommend 4″ Janome Kai Embroidery

- A velvet board or soft surface to cut the metals (i.e. a piece of velvet or beading mat)

Mellor (optional - you can also use one of the chenille needles included in the kit)

In this class you will learn the basics of goldwork embroidery techniques and how to embroider this flower wreath.

This is a workshop aimed for the beginner in goldwork or for those that would like to embroider this project and you will learn everything you need to complete it: how to add a backing fabric for a goldwork project, how to recognise different metals, goldwork purls and threads, how to blend colours with check purls, some of the basic goldwork techniques such us: couching, chipping, the very lovely two-needle leaf stitch, and more!

After completing the class not only you will be able to work on other goldwork projects and to recognise some of the most common metal threads used in goldwork embroidery. It will also inspire you to create your own designs as you will learn that it is a lot easier than what it appears to be.

The kit includes the printed pattern which is a design taken from a XIX Century book for embroidery patterns that I thought was ideal to work in goldwork with coloured purls.

Looking forward to getting you started with goldwork embroidery!
