This workshop will taught in 2 sessions via Zoom
Each session will last 2 hours each
All sessions will be recorded for you to have for future reference or in the case you cannot attend one or both of them. The link to the recordings do not have expiration date.
During these sessions you will learn all the process from the very beginning when you trace the pattern to the last stitch of the design. I will demonstrate live goldwork and stumpwork techniques such as: couching, sequin formation, padding, long and short stitch with smooth purls, chipping, how to build the ornament with a neat backing finish and more.
This project was developed for the Embroiderers’ Guild of America National Seminar 2025 and taught in Dallas, Texas.
The cost of the workshop includes the kit with all the necessary supplies to complete the project (printed pattern, fabric, needles, threads, metals, felts, wire, etc.)
Apart from what's included in the kit you will need:
- 8 inches embroidery hoop
- Clamp or stand to allow for two-handed stitching
- Goldwork embroidery scissors or embroidery scissors that you will use only to cut metals.
- Embroidery scissors
- A velvet board or soft surface to cut the metals
- Mellor (optional)
- Heat erasable pen for fabric such as PILOT FriXion or a pencil.
- Stiletto, awl or any similar tool for piercing the fabric.
